Considerably one of the biggest news basketball has ever seen, owner of the LA Clippers Donald Sterling has been banned from the NBA... forever.
On Tuesday April 29th, at 2:00 ET, Adam Silver, NBA commissioner announced that Sterling will be banned from any NBA games... forever, will be fined 2.5 million dollars out of his swimming pool full of money, and a unanimous vote for him to sell his team, the Clippers.
This incident began when Sterlings wife, Stiviano, published a recording of a conversation between the two to TMZ radio, which quickly spiraled public. In the recording, the two couples argue over a picture on Instagram of Stiviano with Magic Johnson. Sterling insists she takes it down with every other picture of her with a black person because he's racist. He also includes that he doesn't want any black person to go to any of the games and other racial remarks, when his basketball team is almost entirely black.
Many NBA superstars like Lebron James and Kobe Bryant, hall-of-famers including Magic Johnson and Shaquile O'neal, other NBA commissioners like Miami Heat's Nicki Arison and even the most prestigious people in the world like Oprah and Donald Trump expressed their hatred opinion towards Sterling and accuse him of being a horrible person to society via Twitter.
The night before Adam Silver announced the decision, the LA Clippers had a playoff game against the Golden State Warriors where the Clippers lead 2-1 in the series. Before tipoff, the Clipper players took off their warmups, and turned inside out their shoot around shirts and placed them in the middle of the court to show that the players are for themselves, not Sterling. Other teams like the Heat participated in the same venture.
Filling the Gap
Now that the Clippers have a void in ownership, potential offers may be made by very well known people. These people include Magic Johnson, Donald Trump, Oprah Winfrey, Floyd Mayweather, Frankie Muniz (Star of Malcom in the Middle, great show) and Sterling's wife. New potential offers will be revealed in the near future.
Controversy?
Obviously this is a clear case that one should get punished for, but when I really though about it, was it really fair?
First of all he didn't announce this to the public, he was arguing with his wife in a supposedly private room. Next this is a violation of his freedom of speech and right of private censorship. Also, he did admit to his faltering instead of backing down, giving me a tiny bit of respect to him. Finally, if everyone were to be recorded at home, imagine the amount of controversy that would be exposed to the world.

I greatly enjoyed this article. I loved how the article was extremely informative and explained what happened to Donald Sterling in a way non-sports fanatics like myself can understand. I agree on the hatred everybody has on Sterling. Also, i liked how you put the aftermath of the whole "scene" with Donald Sterling. Great post, keep me updated! ~Neal Benchimol
